Last night we stayed just outside Zion National Park in a darling little cabin that faced a huge grassy field where buffalo live and graze…however they didn’t show up while we were there. We barely got a glimpse of them from a distance. But I’m not complaining! It was a beautiful place!
This morning we got an early start heading straight into Zion Park. I hardly even know what to say about the views we saw today…breathtaking. Driving through these miraculously formed mountains, cliffs, bluffs, and canyons was a sight I will not soon forget. It was even more awesome than I imagined.
We spent the whole morning there and got back on the road – without a real destination in mind today we headed east and figured we would just see how far we got and stop when we got tired. Oh and we had to stop in at Four Corners! (that’s where four states meet together in one corner – Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona).
As the day drew to a close, Robert had been monitoring the weather and there was rain heading our way. We were able to stay just west of it but we could see the rain pouring down in front of us and around us….we even saw it snowing on a distant mountain range!
We are retired for the night in Cortez, Colorado.
