Day 6 From Flagstaff to Zion

25 Apr

April 25 2016 After a great night’s rest at the Hampton Inn in Flagstaff, we loaded up the bikes, checked tires, gassed up and headed to the Grand Canyon. We saw spectacular scenery all the way to the canyon and even more breath-taking once we arrived in the park. It’s truly impossible to describe the awesomeness of the Grand Canyon. It is just massive! We came in the south rim and walked along Mather’s Point viewing the canyon from several great vantage points.

Watched crazy people who thought they had to venture down the jaggy rocky cliffs to get closer for some reason. Robert climbed down just a few feet (see picture) – I’m not saying he’s crazy – he only went down a few feet it just looks scary in the picture.

We left the park and rode about 50 miles to the Cameron Trading Post for lunch. We split a Navajo Taco which is similar to a taco salad but instead of a taco shell it’s on fry bread and we split sopapillas. Delicious lunch!

Then, back on the road for about 180 miles to our final destination for the night Zion Mountain Ranch.

These are the cabins Robert and I stayed in 4 years ago during our 25th wedding anniversary trip. We stayed in a small cabin for 2 but this time we are all staying together in a large one that sleeps up to 10. These cabins are really nice! We are planning to stay here two nights and take day trips in the area.

Well, we are about to walk down to the restaurant for some breakfast.

Another great day of vacation – Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
