Day 7 From Seaside to Coos Bay

18 Jul

After a light continental breakfast and checking the tires, we jumped on Highway 101 to take in the views of the lovely Oregon coastline. The temps are staying in the upper 50’s, low 60’s which is a little chilly but with layers and heavy leather coats it feels pretty good.

The views along the coast are amazing! Cannon Beach is a beautiful little ocean side town with gigantic rock formations that look like they are just popping up right out of the ocean…one of those formations is called the Haystacks.  I think I got a crick in my neck from looking to the right all day long! We tried a couple of different times to find historic lighthouses but it just wasn’t meant to be… I blame poor signage!

We stopped for the night in Coos Bay at the Edgewater Motel. Nothing fancy but it had good beds, nice lobby for playing games, and we could walk to dinner (which is a very important thing to us after riding all day).

The next morning we had to say goodbye to the Hawkins and Knipples. They will be heading west to get the ladies to Reno, Nevada for their flights on Wednesday morning. We love you guys and these trips so much. See you next year!
