Day 8 Coos Bay to Willits, sad day – we all ride our separate ways

18 Jul

Well it was another day of incredible views from Highway 101 along the coastline. We also rode through the magnificent Redwood National Park. However it was really chilly today! And we ran in to some pretty thick fog for a few miles. It didn’t warm up until after lunch when it abruptly jumped from the mid 50’s to 80 degrees. Boy did that feel good! We were ready to stop for the night but hadn’t made a reservation so we just took an exit and found a Best Western with a restaurant across the street and pulled in. We unloaded the bike, walked across the street to Lumberjack’s for dinner then back to the hotel to do a load of laundry. Good night all!

As Julie and I head on to Napa and over to Colorado and beyond we wanted to take a moment to say how much we treasure these Harley Family rides each year. We have now completed the 5th year of this ride and already stated talking about next year.  As a Harley Family we have ridden over 22 states and British Columbia together, we have logged over 20,000 miles (final figures being calculated).  Just 28 states to go….
